"Allison and her staff provided one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Duck croquettes were delicious. The fillet was tender and flavorful. Crème brûlée and cheese board were first rate. Highly recommend!"

"Absolute stunning service and food! Such a good vibe! From the moment you step in into the restaurant you feel so welcomed! Chef knows how to cook simple food but extend it to another level! Old hill black and white movie 🎥 is nice little touch which brings this nice vibe! Will be coming back and totally recommend this place to everyone !"

"We were blown away by our first ever visit to Restaurant 1840 in Dawley, Telford, a former Methodist chapel where the tables were created from original chapel pews. We had three courses and every course was delicious. The restaurant was impeccably clean, with the cutlery being noted for its cleanliness. The waiters, all youngsters, were impressively polite and we didn't get called "guys" (apparently the staff are not allowed to use that term). The wait between courses was just right and the ambience good, with gentle music at just the right volume. If there is any constructive feedback then it can only be that the plates could have been hotter, other than hot plates is a pet hate of mine, but the temperature of the food itself was fine. My late dad, at one stage during his life used to be a Methodist preacher so to be in a former Methodist chapel was good. We were suitably impressed to book a future visit and look forward to that occasion."

In all honesty, that thought hadn’t crossed our mind until we saw Restaurant 1840. Much of the materials used in the restaurant are OG materials from the church, which helps to create a one-of-a-kind eatery. There’s a big emphasis on local ingredients and dishes, too.
