Worst review: "Nightmare. Roaring Donkey used to be a place of great memories and fun. No jukebox and a real lack of service has turned this place into a shadow of itself. 20 minutes to get served a pint with a single member of staff working on xmas eve, I won't be returning until more staff are hired and the jukebox is back on the wall.... what a shame.

The Hop Inn in Swindon's Old Town definitely lives up to its current TripAdvisor number 1 and CAMRA Pub of the Year status, according to Wiltshire Live reporter Hannah Currie. She popped in for a midweek dinner and said the "Hop Nosh" was only beaten by the pub's lively atmosphere and extensive taplist.

There’s an ever-changing selection of 12 guest brews – stouts, sours, bitters, IPAs, wheat beers, saisons and pale ales, and 4 permanent favourites – its self-named Hop Bitter by Ramsbury Brewery, Freedom’s lager and pale ale, and Weihenstephaner Bavarian wheat beer.

The Hop Inn is known as a community hub, hosting artisan markets, comedy night quizzes, live music, and exhibitions. It was established in 2012 and within a year had won a CAMRA award. It has plenty to offer, with sixteen beers on tap and great tasty food.
