Reviews Summary
The Duke of York is celebrated for its exceptional food quality, particularly its steaks and Sunday dinners, alongside a warm and friendly atmosphere. While many praise the attentive staff and good value, some reviews suggest inconsistencies, with one noting the absence of food service and another mentioning issues with outdoor food vans. Despite potential quirks, the pub remains a local favorite for its welcoming vibe and tasty offerings.
"Fantastic food and lovely staff.
Service was quick and the food came out quick too so we werent waiting ages.
Food portions were great and the price was worth it. Not too expensive either. Definitely get what you pay for.
I had the hunters chicken which came out great. No complaints and they are happy to make any changes to your meal if asked. Definitely worth a visit."
Caitlin Howells
"Pub no longer does food, just visiting food vans in then evening.
Service was OK and they still do a good pint. Can't really comment on the atmosphere as we were the only patrons at the rime which maybe says it all."
John Berry
"Easter Sunday. Went in and came out, food looked like it was being served from a pop up gazebo in the car park. Bar person said we get the food outside and bring it in. No one eating inside, half a dozen on the car park. Lady who looked like she was serving food was petting a dog. What a dive. It may well be an old fashioned drinkers pub but advertising to sell food needs taking down"

"Not too busy as not letting the restaurant fill up due to current situation and everywhere cleaned while we were there, door handles tables chairs.
