What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Source Kitchen is highly praised for its excellent seafood, particularly fresh oysters and creative dishes made with local, seasonal ingredients. Diners appreciate the intimate and relaxed atmosphere, as well as the attentive and knowledgeable staff. Some reviewers, however, feel that the portion sizes are small for the price, leading to concerns about value for money.
"Excellent seafood. The star of the meal was undoubtedly the fresh oysters, served in their purest, natural form. These gems of the sea were incredibly fresh, we ordered three different favours, natural, Thai dressing and shallot vinegar, all were excellent fresh and delicious. Accompanying the oysters was a delightful Cornish dressed crab and lobster, both crab and lobster were both tender and succulent.
Overall the meal was a true testament to the quality of the ingredients and the skill of the chefs. Every element on the plate was fresh , well prepared, and perfectly balanced, making for an unforgettable dinning experience."

"Fantastic Sunday lunch, although given the number of courses that's an understatement. With the multiple starter courses it's much more than a Sunday lunch.
Once we get past the home made bread & wild garlic butter, the beautiful kale salad, the fish bites, and moules mariniere to the main course, the beef was juicy, the gravy rich, and potatoes roasted to perfection. The atmosphere is relaxed and intimate, and how this place isn't fully booked out is a travesty. Not cheap, but not just Sunday lunch either. Very special."

"Wonderful lunch here, we stopped in on the off-chance to treat ourselves for our 10 year wedding anniversary whilst visiting St. Ives and were lucky enough to be the only people dining in at the time. The waiter was a lovely chap, attentive but not overly so. Perfect!
The foccacia was lovely and warm and the pickles were sharp, crunchy and tangy. The asparagus pea & mint risotto was EXCELLENT, as was the crab, very fresh. The fish was beautiful also, and if we could have had a vat of the chicken butter chive sauce it came with, it still wouldn't have been enough, so good! Highly recommend!"
