Reviews Summary

Diners rave about the classic fish and chips, highlighting fresh, local ingredients and generous portions. The stunning harbour views enhance the dining experience. Some reviews mention long wait times and occasionally greasy preparations, but overall, the consensus points to a satisfying and delicious seaside meal.

"Was recommended so we travelled down from Newquay to try. We weren’t disappointed. It was really busy, but the staff cleared a table and got us seated quickly. Menu has plenty of options, Food is excellent, portions generous. See the photo. No dessert menu but the crepe / ice cream place a few doors down is also worth checking out. Recommended."

"Just realised I went in a little to early before they open. I’m visiting St Ives for a few days and was contemplating if I should get fish and chips since I can pretty much get it anywhere anyway, but I was super hungry and I thought maybe I’ll give it a shot.
The restaurant got quite a great selection of fish I can choose from and I decided to go for Battered Sea Bass with a portion of chips and Tartare sauce. Total came out about £16 which is not too bad, pretty much the same as what I paid for in London or maybe cheaper here.
After coming across a few bad reviews, I didn’t care much as I’m super hungry, walk all the way to sit in Porthmeor beach since there are not much sea gulls and I can sit on the beach.

The food is very nice portion, the chips is great but the fish. Absolutely gorgeous! It is crispy, not oily at all. It got the perfect crunch and batter on it which is not too thick and paired with the tartare sauce is phenomenon! The forgot the cutlery but it was fine I can just pick the fish up and bite it and they threw in a slice of lemon which is super great

I would give this place a go if you’re visiting St Ives and looking for some good fish and chips!"

"Had a fantastic experience at Harbour Fish & Chips in St Ives! The location right on the harbour is perfect, and the food was absolutely delicious. You can really taste the freshness of the locally sourced fish and chips—they’re easily the best in town. Loved that everything is prepared on-site, and the chips were perfectly cooked. Great service and staff who make you feel very welcome. A lovely spot to eat in or grab a takeaway. Highly recommend!"

Buy yourselves fish and chips from one of the takeaways in St Ives or Carbis Bay and you will not be disappointed. Our personal favourite is Sharkey’s located in Penbeagle Industrial Estate right opposite Matthew Steven’s fish merchants, so the fish is catch of the day fresh and the chips light, fluffy and moreish!. Just a word of advice, most fish and chips takeaways close by 8pm so be sure to plan around that.

This place is located at the very end of Wharf Road, down where most of the boat trips set off from. The fish and chips are reasonably priced for a good-sized portion and best of all, you can get a takeaway and eat them overlooking the harbour. Just watch out for the hungry seagulls.
