What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Firehouse Bar & Grill is celebrated for its friendly staff and generous portions, with many praising the delicious food, particularly the steaks and burgers. However, some reviews mention slow service during busy periods and occasional order inaccuracies. Despite these points, the overall sentiment is positive, highlighting the welcoming atmosphere and good value for money.
"Warm and welcoming staff, excellent food and great portion size.
We had the crab and prawn linguine, there are at least 10 jumbo prawns in it, very generous and tasty. Also added a portion of garlic bread for £3.50, got 3 big well toasted and flavoured ones.
😋would definitely come back again!"

"Great little restaurant for the meat lovers. The food was delicious, good sized portions and it’s reasonably priced for the area.
Only downside was service was quite slow (and it wasn’t busy) and they got a couple of things wrong with the order. But overall would definitely recommend."
Tim Oldland
"Pre-booked a table for Friday evening which is probably necessary for peak season as it's a very popular restaurant.
Staff were very friendly, and very attentive to those with nut and gluten allergies - providing separate menus with the items highlighted to avoid or to choose from.
Food arrived promptly and was presented really well - good portion sizes too.
We had the flat iron steak, sea bass and a brisket burger. All of which were delicious and cooked really well.
Definitely a restaurant for a bit of a treat as it is a little pricey for some items, like £5 for a side of sweet potato fries.
We'd happily come back again when visiting St Ives."

Situated in the heart of Fore Street, this bar and grill serves a range of great food, including brick-fired pizza and flame-grilled steaks – but the gin bar is where the Firehouse really excels. Self-proclaimed specialists in the ‘wonderful world of gin’, the Firehouse’s bartenders match a selection of specialist gins with their own dehydrated fruit garnishes and a variety of tonics. However, while there’s nothing better than an expertly mixed G&T, we recommend sampling one of their ‘Cornish Garden’ cocktails.
