What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners consistently praise The Hesketh Arms for its exceptional Sunday roasts and hearty seasonal dishes, highlighting the high quality of food and impeccable presentation. The welcoming atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff, and dog-friendly policies contribute to a highly positive overall experience. While most reviews are glowing, a few mention that food temperature can occasionally be an issue, and for some, the price point is slightly higher than other chain pubs, though generally considered worth the quality.
"Thought we would give the hesketh Arms a chance as we had a voucher and there weren't many places locally to use it. Well we are so glad that we did. The food was delicious, we couldn't fault any of it. Absolutely amazing. The food I would say is a little higher in price than some other chain pubs out there but you can definitely taste the difference in the quality and therefore it is worth the money. The pub itself has maintained its old style pub feel and makes for a really nice environment to eat it."

"Waitress was lovely, the pub it's self was clean and a nice atmosphere.
The food not great. I had the cheddar mushrooms which was served on extremely soggy bread not toasted, so I left it. The trio roast tasted good, just a shame it was barely Luke warm!!! This was my first visit and for £90 bill for 2 people I do not think the food was acceptable for the price. It's a shame because presentation wise it is appealing but maybe they need to think less about presentation and more about what is being served. Let down on this occasion which is a shame when it was a birthday meal. I would not go again."

"What a lovely friendly pub to visit in the gorgeous Churchtown area. Food was impressively good! Seriously, get a starter and a main and you will be impressed. Probably the best "pub" meal I've had. We really enjoyed our visit with our big black Lab. Sat outside as it was so sunny, but would be no problem inside with a dog also from what I saw. Also dog bowls, water and gravy bones to help yourselves to. We will be back!"
