Reviews Summary

Reviews for The Orangery Tea House are mixed, with many praising its charming ambiance, friendly service, and delicious cakes, especially the raspberry and chocolate one. However, some diners have experienced significant delays, cold food, and disappointing quality for the price, with specific complaints about greasy food and missing ingredients. The acoustics can also be an issue, and wasps can be a nuisance in the garden.

"What a great place for breakfast. You can walk around the nursery and then get a really good breakfast! They do bacon and eggs but also have the most amazing pastries!"

Warren Sparrow

"Really wishing we had read the reviews first now...
I came here with my parents for lunch as we thought everywhere else would be busy on Christmas Eve and had been recommended it by my Aunt.
First of all, the acoustics are dreadful with not many people it was still very noisy to have a conversation.
My Mum and I ordered the Chouder and my Dad ordered Pancakes. We had an hour wait and that was with chasing several times. Our hot chocolates and orange juice were quicker but the hot chocolates were cold. 50% of the tables some how had been and gone but we got to know the other 50% who had to wait just as long and were comparing notes. The table next door they even lost half their order and only half arrived after the hour wait.
When the food arrived it wasn't worth the wait, especially for the price! The bread was hard and clearly microwaved, the pancakes weren't freshly made and seemed like ready made ones you microwave. The chowder was OK but again seemed microwaved.

This was my first time. My parents had coffee and cake before and liked it. It just seems the food is the part they just can't do on the service or food itself."

Carly Bishop

"The pricing is, frankly, outrageous.
£9.95 for a 2-rasher bacon sandwich (on un-buttered bread) is eye watering, and honestly a bit disappointing. The bacon itself was nice but when a Full English is £11.95 you have to question the value. When asked staff simply said “well it’s that much for a BLT so it’s the same”, except, that would come with lettuce and tomato.

£1.90 for a babyccinno is fair enough, charging £1.50 on top for a bit of squirty cream is taking the p*.

I don’t expect I’d be welcome back anyway, but for what it’s worth I would not eat here again."
