Mainstay coffee comes from London veteran Caravan to make milky drinks rich and sweet, while a guest espresso, and a filter or two, could come from any of Europe’s current top roasters: La Cabra of Aarhus, Friedhats of Amsterdam, The Barn (of) Berlin. A range of snacks, natural wines, and quality olive oils round out an offering whose adaptation to the needs of locals during the COVID-19 pandemic was as natural as they come.

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main street, this quaint deli offers an excellent selection of sandwiches and other casual fare. The interior is cozy, relaxed and charming, making it an ideal place to get to know a date over a delicious meal.

For brunch, head to The Alberts Deli, which serves all the classics — full English, avo on toast — but does them beautifully. If you still have space after that, be sure to squeeze in one of the homemade cakes, too. More great food can be found at Caffe Paola, with the Lebanese breakfast coming very highly recommended.

This place is a great place to stop off and have a drink along with some baked goods. They source their ingredients from independent producers. The decor is very busy in my opinion but works well and is better than bland.

As you’d expect from an affluent borough, there’s a great selection of independent food shops too, ranging from two branches of The Teddington Cheese to the popular Alberts Deli.
