Reviews Summary
The Family Kitchen & Shop receives mixed reviews, with many praising its family-friendly atmosphere and specific dishes like pizza and clotted cream ice cream. However, some diners have expressed disappointment with the quality and value of certain items, as well as issues with service and pricing, particularly for children's meals. The separate queues for food and drinks have also been noted as a minor inconvenience.
"The staff were very friendly and helpful this evening. The food was freshly prepared and made to order. Our pizza was lovely. Fantastic customer service and we’d like to thank our server Alisha and all her staff."
Dallas
"Possibly the wort coffee I’ve had in the last 12 months.
The service is miserable, the coffee is poor, the prices are high, the quantities small.
When your in student digs and you buy the cheapest, nastiest cups, that’s the ones you get at this cafe. They fill them with really sad tasting coffee and charge an over £4 for it. They are also really miserable about doing it so the staff probably see little of the profit share."
Henry Harry
"£6.50 for a small spinach roll that tastes half raw. Gails charges less and they’re worth it. This was a joke! Staff are rude and a school canteen would have a better atmosphere. Avoid unless you’re desperate!"

We visited the world-famous gardens where you can walk through the trees
We at a table outside The Family Kitchen for a short while before we ventured further on. There was a Supertato character event taking place over the Easter holidays with special activities for kids to enjoy. This finished at 4pm so we only caught the tail end of it, but the boys enjoy a little play in the makeshift vegetable shop, and we joined Supertato's veggie friends towards the end of little parade.
Kew Gardens: Family Experience Of The Month
It’s also worth noting the great selection of restaurants, including the relatively new Family Kitchen & Shop which has a stone-baked pizza oven, salad bar and ice-cream station. With highchairs and lots of space, it’s an ideal spot to dine with little children. And if you’d like to keep them interested in the natural world after your visit, pick up a book or a game in the well-stocked gift shop.

This food hall serves a whole host of family favourites, from its stone-baked pizzas and salads to a sandwich bar and hot counter. It is a great spot to head to for lunch with the whole family, and you can either eat in, as there is lots of indoor seating available or opt to take the food away. There is ice cream served if you want to reward the children for being well-behaved.
