Would definitely recommend to all."

"We had a lovely two night stay. I came to revisit my roots, and get a long walk in. Our room was beautiful, full of character and charm. There were biscuits which is also a win! Luxuriously big shower which eased the aches a bit. We ate here the second night, and came away wishing we'd done both nights. The menu was very good and hearty. Breakfast was great as well - tinkering with choices was encouraged!
Everybody was incredibly welcoming and friendly, and to cap it all I got some very useful advice for a forthcoming trip to Kilimanjaro!
I really couldn't recommend highly enough.
Thank you for a much needed break!"

"From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the service was absolutely outstanding. Shaikta was exceptional — her attention to detail and warm hospitality truly made our stay special. She welcomed us personally, showed us to our room, explained the housekeeping details, and even booked us a table at the restaurant.
We also really appreciated the room information, especially the history of the cottage — it was a lovely read and added so much character to the stay.
Dinner was delicious, made with fresh, local ingredients and full of flavour. Breakfast the next morning was equally impressive — one of the best we’ve ever had (thank you Laura, it was amazing!).
Would I recommend this place? Without a doubt! Whether you’re here for the beautiful walks or just want a peaceful getaway, this inn is a hidden gem. We’ll definitely be back. Please book and support this wonderful team — they truly deserve every success.
Thank you"

Our favourite Peak District pubs
Well, in the pubs early days, the Cheshire Cheese Inn was an overnight stop off point on the old salt transportation route. Accommodation was paid for with cheese, hence the name. Unfortunately, cheese is no longer a valid payment method, but you will still experience the same relaxed old world setting, plus a great selection of local ales.
