Reviews Summary

The Bulls Head is highly praised as a charming country pub with excellent food and a warm atmosphere, loved by both locals and visitors. While generally offering generous portions and great service, some find the burger prices a bit high for a pub. The popularity means booking ahead is often necessary, especially on busy evenings.

"Stopping by with no reservations with a pram I popped in to make sure we could get a table and the staff were welcoming and accommodating allowing us to choose the table right for us, we chose the snug as to not disturb other customers. We were not forgotten about with orders taken, drinks arrived and food ordered taken and brought out within a short time. The food itself was tasty and a good portion size at a reasonable price.
Parking is free outside but is limited but we had no problem arriving at 6pm"

"What a great find! A neighborhood pub with an upscale menu. Wonderful atmosphere and service. Highly recommend the Baked Chocolate Brownie. We were lucky to get a table early in the evening, but it looked like many had made reservations."

Unfortunately no photo of the dessert I was to eager to tuck in 😋"

Best kid friendly cafes and pubs with play areas in the Peak District

The Bull’s Head in Ashford-in-the-Water is another charming Peak District pub with easy access to a village playground, or in this case, the village rec!. There’s plenty of space for little legs to run around, complete with a big slide, a climbing frame, and even football goal posts. The playground is within sight of the beer garden, though it’s around 60 metres away, so you’ll have a clear view while enjoying your meal or drink.
