🐟 Gordon Ramsay has said that Nories serves the best fish and chips in Oban, Scotland (definitely worth bragging about). 🌊 We certainly agree as the fish was wonderfully crunchy and fresh. 💷 Although the dish is expensive, costing around £13, the portion size is generous enough to feed two people. #oban #scotland #gordonramsay #fishandchips #nories #viralfood #traveltips #travelfood #travelfoodie ...

Reviews Summary

Praised for serving some of the best fish and chips in Scotland, diners rave about the light, crispy batter and fresh fish. While portion sizes are generous and offer great value, some note that the chips can sometimes be soft or greasy. The cozy atmosphere and quick service are appreciated, though seating can be limited during peak hours.

"Favorite fish and chips and mushy peas I have had in Scotland so far. We got the fish tea special with included haddock, chips, bread and butter, mushy peas, tarter sauce, and tea. Fish was a huge portion and delicious. The fish itself had good texture and flavor and the batter was really crisp and light. The bread and butter was nothing special. There is a small amount of seating inside the restaurant. The service was mediocre. Our waitress forgot to bring our tea and tartar sauce, and only brought out mushy peas for one person. She was very nice about bringing everything we asked for but all of those items were supposed to be included with the fish tea special. Still enjoyed the fish a lot. We are around 5 pm and got the last table. It was very crowded after we were seated."

"Fabulous fish and chips and great little restaurant inside. We got seated straight away but timed it just right, as it wasn't long until people were waiting for seats. Good service, although the two waitresses were very busy so hard to get their attention to pay. We weren't in a rush so happy to wait. Will definitely return if we are back in Oban."

Sophie Travis

"Had the best battered fish I've tasted here. The batter was light and crispy and the fish perfectly cooked. It was utter perfection honestly. The chips were a bit lackluster as they were a bit soft and, for some, very greasy. A surprising contrast to the fish, which should be easy enough to fix.

We had a large portion for the both of us and had more than enough, as the servings are quite generous. Definitely worth a visit!"
