The Beef Shin & Red Wine Ravioli is rich and delicious - a perfect treat! The team there are so friendly and welcoming, which makes all the difference. A sparkling Great Gatsby-inspired, 1920s evening of extravagance is taking place at Browns in Park Row. Diners will be greeted with canapés on arrival before sitting down to a three-course banquet of dishes such as 28-day sirloin steak, roast rack of lamb or heritage tomato tart. Celebrate the evening, in partnership with Veuve Clicquot champagne, with glasses of bubbles and a swing theme party with a live singer.

Browns is another small chain of restaurants, but I have eaten at the Nottingham city centre location several times and the modern British food and service are always great. The photo above is of a cozy small dining area at the front of the restaurant, away from their main dining room. I usually order from their fish and seafood list, and almost always have their crème brûlée for dessert.

If you prefer to take afternoon tea in chic surroundings, head to the Nottingham branch of Browns. You can tuck into three tiers of treats, including savouries such as a prawn cocktail brioche roll, and smoked salmon and cream cheese. There is also a delightful selection of sweet treats.
