Reviews Summary

Bread Source is celebrated for its exceptional artisanal breads and delectable pastries, particularly almond croissants and cinnamon buns. Many praise the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, making it a beloved spot for coffee and treats. However, some reviews mention inconsistent service, with a few diners experiencing rudeness, and occasional complaints about the dryness or staleness of certain pastries.

"I have been there many times now both to have in or take away. They have a very nice selection of sweet and savory things. My top favorite is the almond croissant, raspberry and pistachio whirl and their vegetarian quiche. But everything I have had so far has been good and it is worth a try.
Their coffee on the other hand is not one of my favorites. It's ok."

"Such a cute little cafe to just relax and unwind! And since the sun is out,I really liked their outdoor sitting! And all the staff are so friendly and attentive highly recommend! Only complaint would be the uncomfortable chair that they have!"

"Terrible Service & Inedible Pastries

I used to buy my coffee and pastry here but the last few experiences have been really bad. I had a truly disappointing experience the other day at Bread Source Bakery. The staff were incredibly rude, talking to customers for ages no greeting, no smile, and acted like I was a nuisance just for asking a simple question about whether the pastries were made the same day. It felt like I was inconveniencing them by being there.

To make things worse, I bought an almond croissant that looked decent but was hard as a rock and when asked to change it, I was told that all of them were the same. I’m not exaggerating, it was like biting into a stone. Completely inedible. Between the terrible service and the awful food, I honestly don’t know how this place stays open. Flies everywhere sitting on the bread. It was so unhygienic.

Definitely won’t be coming back. There are far better bakeries around that actually care about their customers and their pastries."

Best places to eat in Norwich

A post shared by Bread source (@bread_source) on Apr 28, 2018 at 1:01am PDT. "Bread Source have a bakery on Upper St Giles street, one in St Faith’s, just outside of Norwich, and one in nearby Aylsham. Their pain au chocolat and sourdough is incredible, the best in the city by far. You can also pick up their bakes at The Norwich Providore stall in the market, and it’s stocked at Louis’ Deli, a cool, Scandi-style coffee shop. They also make the bread for Benedicts, a barley bread - we grow the best barley in the world in Norfolk.". 93 Upper St Giles Street, Norwich, Norfolk, NR1 1AB; 01603 611526; bread-source.co.uk

Bread Source: There are obviously other outlets for this bakery in the city (I adore sitting in the garden of their flagship café with pastries on a weekend), but this central location is ideal if, like me, you’re a bit lazy. We often stop here to buy their fantastic bread, putting it together with other bits and pieces from the market for an impromptu picnic. Do not miss their plump, cinnamon-spiced, sweet-glazed buns.
