Paul Harwood’s Fish House is a new restaurant in Newquay located on Fistral Beach a stones throw from the sea. The inspiration for the food comes straight from the sea, using locally caught fish and shell fish caught straight from Newquay harbour. For us, the star of the show is their seafood sharer board combining a whole host of nautical delights including crab cakes, salt and pepper prawns, crispy squid and salt cod stuffed piquillo peppers!

The stable sits overlooking the whole of Fistral Beach, flanked by Newquay’s imposing Headland Hotel made famous for its feature in the 1990 film adaptation of Roald Dahl’s, The Witches. This laid-back spot is filled with surfing memorabilia and long, wooden tables, ideal for a quick drink or a bite to eat.

Anyone who visits Newquay needs to book a safari with these guys, excellent friendly instructors all willing to help. We had no previous experience and we were soon zipping along the waves with the help of our guide Jamie. Waves and sea conditions were tough especially on the way out but so exhilarating on the way back, wish we could have stayed all day.

This restaurant was located near our hotel so it was a perfect place to go for dinner. We loved the pizza selection along with the views of the ocean inside. A pretty good place to check out if you are in the Newquay area.
