Reviews Summary

Box & Barber is a highly praised coffee shop and brunch spot in Newquay, lauded for its delicious and aesthetically pleasing food, especially its açaí bowls and breakfast burritos. Many appreciate the friendly service and relaxed, hip atmosphere. However, some diners have noted that service can be slow during busy periods, and value for money has been questioned by a few.

"A diamond in the rough!

Walking the SW coast path and it runs through the middle of Newquay. This very cool little cafe is hands down the best bacon butty & coffee I’ve had since I started. Friendly staff and a very hip clientele. It’s an essential stop off if you find yourself in Newquay."

Gavin Griffiths

"Nice & cozy café. Good food. Amazing servers. The service could have been quicker, but I do understand the fact that it was a busy day and a fairly small staff number to manage. But overall it was worth the wait."

Vivek Bhatt

"My daughter and I have been. Known to get up at 6 and travel three hours to get breakfast here (we then will do an impromptu stay in Cornwall)) This week we were in Cornwall anyway so nipped to our favourite brunch spot. The girl on the counter was so friendly and we talked about past dishes. We both had wraps (and shared a half each to get more flavours) they were so tasty with good textures . Too much food, but we got a box to go. Coffee to drink, which was good too.
The cafe has seating inside and out the front. It would be a good number but the food is so good it gets full quickly, but dishes are available to go and taking your breakfast to Fistrel to watch the surfers is a definite recommend. So do not be disappointed if no tables it just adds to the experience.

The only other comment is bring back the dish with broccoli, egg and cashew sauce ... Best dish ever
My photo is from a previous trip not this week, but it will give you an idea."

How Newquay grew up and why now is the time to go

Box & Barber is an easygoing spot right in the centre of town, making it a great pit-stop for post-beach activities, whether that's for surfing, swimming or walking, as they don't mind sandy feet and four-legged friends. With organic food, natural wines and sustainably sourced coffee from Origin Roasters, it's perfect for lazy brunches that lead more into lunchtime territory. Choose from Antipodean and Mexican brunch dishes, like breakfast burritos with tofu, hash, refried beans, avocado, pico de gallo and spinach, acai bowls, or more substantial doorstop-wedge sourdough toasties to help refuel.
