"The scran is absolutely elite, unbelievable flavour and beautifully presented. Although on the smaller side due it being a taster menu it’s still unreal. The waiting staff present your bait and tell you in detail about it. We didn’t opt for the paired wine but we did get the cocktails which were very strong but very tasty. Overall a lot of money for a different experience, a big occasion type of meal."

"Absolutely incredible service and atmosphere from one of Newcastle's few Michelin starred restaurants (one of the others being its sister- Solstice, both by Kenny Atkinson).
The staff were attentive and passionate about the food, restaurant and city. The building itself is full of olden charm and allows the vibe to be high-end but unpretentious.
The drinks/wine list was long and plentiful with the option to add a pairing to your tasting menu. The menu itself was fresh, delicious, seasonal and without fault. We opted for the extra course of langoustine and scallop agnlotti which was incredible. My other favourite dish would be the ceviche which was also plated beautifully.
On the whole, exceptional and I'll most definitely be heading back or to Solstice when I'm next back in the motherland."

"Last went a couple of years ago when I would have rated it 5 stars.. this time it's a 4.
Reasons, although it cost less than our previous visit, we felt the quality of the food had been reduced to cater for that. Every mouthful on our previous visit was met with smiles due to the flavours of each dish from the tasting menu.. this time this didn't happen. Although good, starters definitely didn't have the wow factor at all, normal in taste just that they were fine, a 3 out of 5. Main courses were good though, still no wow feeling like previous visit, but still lovely (4 out of 5) and desserts were similar very good but not outstanding, 4 out of 5. Add in a £60 bottle of wine and a service charge, it makes it a pricey day for a good meal.. not a memorable meal which we had 2 years ago, which cost more but made us want to come back at a future date.. unfortunately our recent experience disappointed us slightly and we will have to go somewhere else to try and get that feeling again."
