What: Formerly known as Earls, the Market House is located in the heart of the County Town opposite the Hazlitt Theatre and next to Fremlin Walk shopping precinct. There's a covered al-fresco drinking and dining area to the front of the building and a first floor roof terrace overlooking Fremlin Walk, with heated, covered seating areas. The menu includes everything from small tapas-style plates and superfood salads to spinach tortilla wraps and burgers and all our dishes are freshly cooked using local ingredients where possible.

Many of the countryside pubs are the hub of the local community and have a great atmosphere. In the summer you can sit outside in the sun and take in the views, sights and smells of the Kentish countryside and in the winter you can cosy up and keep warm inside with the fire going and candles lit.In the surrounding countryside there are some delightful traditional inns and family friendly pubs to be discovered including The Malta, The Bull Inn, George and Dragon, The Black Horse and many more.

If you don't like the band that's on in Druids, the Market House is the other pub that puts on a lot of love music and after the refurbishment in 2018, it is now so much bigger as they now take advantage of the whole building. They have a great outside seating area upstairs as well, it's mainly used by smokers as it saves them having to keep going in and out of the bar. Plus, it's just a few doors down from Druids Arms.

Market House offers relaxed, all-day dining in the centre of town, complete with a rooftop terrace, alfresco courtyard and live music every weekend. We've visited so many times over the past few years, and it never disappoints. My wife, daughter, and I enjoyed an incredible roast dinner.The staff here are always welcoming and go above and beyond to ensure a great experience. The warm atmosphere and consistently excellent food keep us coming back.

Right next to Fremlin Walk shopping centre is the lovely Market House, which provides lovely food and a range of beers at a great price. If you are visiting with a friend, they do a deal with five small plates for only £26 – bargain!
