Reviews Summary
The Village Rest Luss is praised for its generous portions, hearty and delicious food like steak pie and fish and chips, and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The staff are frequently noted as friendly and attentive, enhancing the dining experience. However, some guests have found the ordering system akin to a canteen, and wait times can occasionally be long.
"I visited this place for lunch with my family, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely great every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. The steak pie stood out the most: rich, hearty, and packed with delicious flavour. The burgers were equally impressive, juicy and well seasoned, and my brother couldn’t stop raving about his fish and chips crispy on the outside and tender inside.
Adding to our amazing food experience theservice was impressively fast, and the staff were incredibly friendly, making us feel welcome and well looked after throughout our meal. The cosy atmosphere of the place added to the charm. We’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommended if you’re in the area!"

If you go, expect to spend 1-2 hours walking to the pier, grabbing a coffee (I like St. Mocha on the pier, personally), visiting the picturesque village church and chatting the kind man who welcomes visitors there daily, and getting a baked treat from the Luss Village Shop before you leave. Try one of their various homemade cakes or treats with a cup of tea before you go, like their homemade Gypsy Cream. (It's cookie sandwich comprised of oat & ginger cookies smoothing together a massive hunk of vanilla icing in the middle.)
Best Breakfast and Brunch Places in Luss
Established in 1705, the Drovers has gone on to become (arguably) one of the most famous pubs in Scotland. Taking its name from the highland drovers who used to drive their cattle down the side of Loch Lomond to the markets in the south, The Drovers is a wonderful trip to the past. With a Highland welcome and plenty of awesome drinks on offer its a great place to stop and refuel on a wee trip around the loch.
