What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for The Manor Hotel are overwhelmingly negative, citing severe issues with cleanliness, room condition, and staff rudeness. Guests report stained linens, dusty furniture, broken fixtures, and a lack of housekeeping. While the location is noted as good, the overall experience is described as a nightmare, with many advising others to avoid the establishment.
"We were made to pay for a service dog. This will be looked into by police as it is illegal.
They tried to make my nan pay for breakfast even though it was already paid for. They were trying it because she's an old lady.
The room I stayed in was supposed to be a sea view. If you lean tight against the wall you can see a bit of the ocean to the side.
Hair in the shower and sink, yellow in all 4 corners of the shower. Surfaces had dried tea or coffee on them I had to wipe off myself. Crumbs everywhere and stained blankets and pillows. Musty crust and money grabbing staff.
Owner treats staff like rubbish and has a go at them in front of everyone. Tv remote was sticky and gross so didn't even bother
Breakfast was bare bones. Orange juice was so sour it almost killed my mother.
They had a cool toast machine though."

"AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COST. we booked a deluxe sea view room on line but when we arrived we was told no sea view rooms available. When we questioned the staff he said if we cancel the booking we will still be charged. We asked about the breakfast they said its continental only but this is not stated when booking.
The room wasn't clean, windows was dirty and the unit was dusty, nothing deluxe about this more like cheap economy. Smelled moldy and dirty.
We wanted more sugar and milk pressed reception buzzer but no one came.
Do not stay here, save your money and go camping instead!!!"

"Appearances deceptive … photo looked lovely. Deluxe sea view room … sea view room ✔️ but Deluxe absolutely not
Room furniture all thick in dust, bedside cabinets made of glass cracked and trim off and left under the unit. So shocked when pulled back sheets (which were actually clean) found no mattress protectors and the mattress itself was disgusting. Stained, ripped and ancient.
Thankfully given 100% refund via booking.com and found alternative pronto. Frustrated no one on site, phone call got me a guy who was clearly at home with his children interrupting conversation, he buttoned me 3 times. Not professional at all. Shame as location fab and hotel could be lovely with bit of investment and a decent housekeeper. Located sea front within the free parking area near paddling pool end prom.
Constructive feedback as I’ve never given a bad review ever! Get a new bed, mattress, mattress protector and cleaner who knows how to weild a damp cloth - as needed asap could be a gold mine but no one parting with £100 + per night should be expected to lie on that !"
