Reviews Summary

Guests praise The Castle Hotel for its welcoming staff, comfortable rooms, and excellent food, particularly the roast dinners. Its prime central location near Conwy Castle is a major draw for tourists. However, some reviews note that the hotel's decor and facilities, while charming, show signs of age and could benefit from modernization to match its premium advertising.

"This was a delightful place to stay while in Conwy. Perfectly located and easy to walk to many attractions, restaurants, bars, and shops. Our room was comfortable, with a large comfortable bed, bath with shower, and a cozy seating area that jutted out into High Street for a great place to have morning coffee or to write travel diary entries in the evening. The restaurant served a great made to order breakfast and dinner was also excellent. Be sure to try Dylan's next door for a meal. The sea bream tacos and a whiskey sour won't disappoint. We thoroughly enjoyed the location, accommodations and lovely helpful staff. Thank you!"

"As another reviewer had said….. the online photos are a huge contrast to what the hotel is actually like! Our room was dirty, bits on floor and three hairs around the bath. I reported the hairs almost immediately and the man on the desk was very helpful, in fairness and sorted it but I didn’t also want to start raising additional issues like the floors. The rooms are a little tired and dark! The hallways are drab and need renovation, to reflect what this premium collection hotel advertise. Downstairs dark and needs a refurb, also. Hair dryer didn’t work and all toiletries you have to pay for £12-16 per pop. The hand sanitizer was on the side of the sink so we assumed we could use it THEN realised on reading the price list the hand wash was on it SO we should not have been using it!!!! Cheeky of them doing this! All in all not exactly as advertised! I expected more for a 4 star!!!!"

"Very good hotel in the center of the town. Restaurant at downstairs serves high quality foods. Bar is very good also. Room are pretty efficient but from Americans' point of view, lack of room for putting travelling accessories. The rooms are overly decorated and those stuff took place and challenging to move around."

Chances are if you’ve visited to Conwy before, you will have walked past the Castle Hotel located prominently on the high street. The hotel is steeped in history and proved to be fit for Royalty when heir presumptive to the throne, the 13-year-old Princess Victoria visited for lunch in 1832. You can read more about the buildings history online but back to the restaurant, there is a few dining areas ranging in formality with menus to reflect the setting.
