Reviews Summary

Mowgli Street Food in Liverpool is celebrated for its vibrant Indian street food, unique ambiance with twinkling lights and swing chairs, and attentive service. Diners rave about the delicious flavors, especially the Yoghurt Chat Bombs and sticky chicken. While most reviews are glowing, some patrons have noted occasional service issues, particularly during busy periods or with initial seating arrangements.

"Absolutely amazing place. We went for my husband's birthday on 17th March. We arrived about 2.30pm. It was very quiet.
The first thing I noticed was the homely twinkling lights. And how very clean it was.
We were shown to our table.
We ordered and was explained to regarding the menu and how it comes.
We didn't have to wait long at all for our food.
I always notice the music in restaurants, it can make or break with me. If the music is not right I won't be going back. In this case the playlist was spot on. Very impressed.
We were not disappointed at all with any of the food we had.
10/10 for food and 10/10 service.
We will be back."

Angela Gregory

"Great ambiance. We did not have reservations but were sat immediately. The service was friendly and quick. The chaat bites appetizer was absolutely delicious. We also got their lamb curry (a family recipe) and it was delightful. We also got their sticky chicken. While that one was not bad, it was too sweet for our taste."

Anahita Khalilzadeh

"Absolutely loved my experience at Mowgli Street Food! The decor inside is beautiful—warm string lights, cozy seating, and even some swing-style seats that give the place a unique and inviting vibe. The service was fast, and the staff were incredibly polite and welcoming. The food was delicious with generous portions and great quality. A perfect spot for a relaxed meal with a great atmosphere. Highly recommend!"

Indian Restaurants In Liverpool You Need To Try

Indian street food is all the rage at the moment –and Mowgli is one of the finest examples of this. This restaurant aims to channel fresh, Indian home cooking with its chain of restaurants up and down the country, and its Liverpool branch is one of the most popular. Mowgli’s restaurant itself is a thing of beauty, with its industrial-feel, stripped-back wooden benches and exposed brick walls.

The 5 Best Places to Eat in Liverpool City Centre

Nisha Katona was a Barrister for 20 years but always had an obsession with one day bringing her heritage and mother’s cooking to the masses. After giving up her full-time career in 2014 she established Mowgli on Bold Street in Liverpool, introducing the masses to authentic Indian food that was eaten in homes and on the move on a daily basis. It was a revelation, leading to expansion into another restaurant in Liverpool, two in Manchester, and countless others up and down the country (whilst so far avoiding London to prove that a successful chain of restaurants does not need the capital’s recognition).

Nisha Katona has done lots for Liverpool’s restaurant scene; a frequent guest on various television cooking shows, she is also a tireless promoter of the city’s culinary assets at foodie events across the region and beyond. Perhaps her most appreciated contribution to the city though is Bold Street’s Mowgli, the first Indian street food eatery in Liverpool and an instant hit with foodies on Merseyside. The simple but tasty dishes justify the restaurant’s popularity and it’s no surprise that new sister restaurants have opened up on Water Street in Liverpool and over in Manchester.
