We only ate breakfast out on our last morning after we’d checked out of the hotel, and we had originally planned to grab something at Bill’s. However, as fate would have it, due to a power cut on their street we had to source a brunch elsewhere (and we were dangerously close to the 11:30/12pm brunch cut-off time!).

Bill’s is housed in the beautiful Albion Place near Trinity Leeds shopping centre. It’s spread across two floors and breakfast is served until 11.30am. The toasted sourdough with hummus, smashed avocado, spinach, roasted plum tomatoes, mushrooms and mixed seeds is a stand-out vegan dish.

Bill’s in Leeds is a popular spot that offers a cosy and welcoming atmosphere for students. It’s known for its all-day dining experience, serving everything from breakfast to dinner. The menu here is full of British dishes with a modern twist, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

Another place to be is Bills, found in the middle of the city centre, only about a 15 minute walk from campus. It may be a chain but you won’t find them in many cities in the UK. Along with multiple floors, it also provides outdoor seating so is perfect for the summer.

Bill’s was founded in 2001 by Greengrocer Bill Collinson in Lewes, East Sussex. After a flood Bill added a café to his shop and after great success went on to open a second restaurant in Brighton. Bill’s have since expanded and opened 81 sites across the UK.

They also serve a vegetarian brekkie, aptly named the Bill’s Vegetarian Breakfast, which includes poached free range eggs, pesto roasted plum tomatoes, mushrooms, tomato hummus, smashed avocado, sweet chilli sauce, basil and toast.
