What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Waterside Restaurant receives praise for its stunning riverside location, delicious food, and friendly service, with many highlighting the exceptional Fish & Chips and other dishes. While most diners have a positive experience, some note occasional service inconsistencies and that prices can be a bit high for the portion sizes or preparation.
"Came along for dinner one night while visiting Inverness. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Service was quick. Food was delicious. Beer from distillery next door is definitely worth a taste"

"We've been staying in the nearby hotel, came to the restaurant for dinner, no reservation. Initial service was friendly and we were seated quickly. Afterwards it took some time to order. Food was tasty, as mains we ordered lamb and salmon.
We also came daily for a breakfast, usually at 9-9:15. Selection for breakfast was OK, nothing really that stands out. Service was hit and miss. In one way waiters were quick and helpful, on the other hand... i know it was not full (and interestingly they seated most of guest to a few tables close together), it really depended who was working... i'm sorry, but we don't need to listen to their private discussion in a dining room.
And yes, would still recommend the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. Location is good, food is tasty, just a little effort needs to be done to improve the service."

"This is a review for the restaurant. The Waterside is right beside the River Ness a great location. Parking is around the back and they note your registration plate for free parking. It was a Friday evening the place was busy. We were served quickly and efficiently. The portions were generous and nicely presented. There was five of us and people were still coming in as we left. This place is recommended but I would certainly book to avoid disappointment. All in all a good experience for us."

As the name would suggest, this is another of the city’s restaurants to boast a riverside setting. The Waterside, which is also a hotel, sits a short distance south of the castle on Ness Bank and looks across the river to Eden Court - the city’s popular theatre and independent cinema. A pedestrian-only suspension bridge linking the two sides of the river sits a short distance away, meaning that diners can enjoy a slap-up meal before taking in one of the theatre’s shows.
