Reviews Summary

Abbey Tea Rooms & Restaurant is highly praised for its traditional British afternoon tea and charming, homely atmosphere. Visitors love the delicious, homemade food, especially the scones and Sunday roast, and the excellent, friendly customer service. While the ambiance is often described as quaint and a step back in time, some may find the lack of modern vegan options a drawback.

"We had the Sunday lunch and were very impressed. Service was bang on, portion sizes were perfect, and beautifully prepared. We had the lamb and chicken main course and both were amazing. The dessert choice was amazing and had that "home prepared" feel to it. Recommend the Ginger Sponge & Clotted Cream, and the Fruit Meringue nest 😃"

Mark Hamer

"Traditional tea rooms, very much like "Anne of Cleaves" if you know Totnes.
It's been run by the same lady since 1989.
Breakfast is served till 11.30.
Then they offer sandwiches, toasties, jacket potatoes, roast dinner & homemade pie / soup of the day. They also offer a selection of home-made puddings including rice pudding, sticky toffee/ ginger or lemon sponge puds served with cream, custard or ice cream.
Great selection of afternoon teas, including a savoury one.
Good choice of hot drinks & local soft drinks."

Julie Manning

"We were welcomed by a lovely lady, she took our order. The service was excellent and the scones were delicious."

The award winning Queen of Cups restaurant in Glastonbury

Glastonbury is famous for many things - the Tor, the Abbey, the Holy Thorn, its quirky shops, the legend of King Arthur, not to mention the world-famous music festival that takes place just down the road. It’s not, however, generally thought of as a foodie destination - although that’s starting to change thanks to the talents of Ayesha Kalaji, Executive Chef and co-founder of the Queen of Cups on Northload Street.
