What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Sugo Pasta is widely praised for its delicious, authentic handmade pasta and lively, industrial-chic atmosphere. Diners rave about the fresh ingredients and regional specialties. However, some find the portion sizes small for the price, and the no-reservations policy can lead to significant waits, impacting service consistency during busy periods.
"I can honestly say that I have never been to a restaurant with as electric an atmosphere as this. It was quite literally buzzing and the vibes were immaculate. Situated right in the city centre, it was packed to the brim and had a compact menu of equally brilliant options. Whoever designed the interior, captured the mood this place would evoke to perfection. I recommend so so much to everyone"
Daryl Monserrate
"You cannot book this place so have to turn up and queue. We waited about 15 minutes around 5pm. The problem is they haven’t thought about this at all. There is a tiny bar area that doesn’t fit all the people waiting so you spill out into the foyer in front of the reception desk until the try and push you in more. This no booking gimmick only really works if you give people a good place to wait. It also means the restaurant is not really family friendly because you have to stand in a tiny bar area with kids.
The food is really good but the portion sizes are pretty small so it’s not great value.
Service was pretty terrible too. After we sat down nobody spoke to us for a while. When the did we ordered drinks and water which didn’t come until after the food and I think only came because we managed to ask someone.
It’s a shame because the food is tasty and it could be a great place if they took bookings, portions were a little bigger and the service was better."
Gordon Allan
"The pasta was tasty. However, the portion was underwhelming, there is no option to get a bigger size which is unfortunate.
The price is normal for pasta restaurants but you could genuinely make 3 times as much at home for the price.
If you are a group of people that want a place to chat and eat some good food and you don't have big appetites then it's a good place. The staff were very nice."

Due to the no-reservations policy and potential for long waits in a compact space, it may not be ideal for families with very young children.

Regrettably, there are no gluten-free options available on the menu.
