What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Gamba is highly praised for its exquisite seafood dishes and attentive service, creating an elegant and memorable dining experience. While many rave about the fresh ingredients and refined preparations, some reviews note inconsistencies in service speed or food quality, particularly for larger groups or specific dishes. However, the restaurant remains a top choice for special occasions and a culinary journey through Scotland's best seafood.
"A lovely dining experience.
Good for gluten free diners.
Returned after 20 years as diner and it was as good as it was then.
Service and food are among the best in Glasgow, great wine selection and relaxing environment.
A la carte was chosen and had lobster and hallubut for mains, soup for starters. Both meals excellent."
Ian Richards
"Absolutely loved this restaurant. The starters were excellent as well as our mains. Gregor was our waiter and he was so attentive and full of knowledge in regards to the fish on the menu. It was perhaps a little quiet but that is never a bad thing. Definitely recommended a visit!"
Stevie
"Sat 45£ menu is 3 course and comes with a glass of wine
Bread was cold and not good. Butter no flavour either
Their fish soup is really something. Idk why they call it a fish soup when it's really more of a seafood bisque, esp since there's so much crab. Unfortunately there's no prawn dumpling inside? Just a tiny prawn
The grey sole texture is ok, but the fish itself is really not too special, so tender as it was, there's no particular flavour. The garlic soy is also not as potent as the Cantonese kind, and the mountain of butter was just greasy.
Ginger ice cream in the sticky toffee pudding was good
Overall fish soup is very good, the rest is really not worth the price"
