"My friend and I came here on a visit to Glasgow. Service was good. My mate was out having a ciggie when the food came, so the server went to get him. The food was good. Sausage was full of meat and my poached egg was cooked perfectly. The bacon was thick and streaky with excellent black pudding. No baked beans so have to knock a star off for that im afraid. Two full breakfasts and two mamosa were 50 quid. Expsensive for what you got but clearly popular as they were taking bookings. Personally I wouldnt return as I have had nicer for cheaper."

It’s been a breakfast fave for as long as we can remember and despite the ever-evolving range of competition in the city, Cafe Gandolfi remains one of the best breakfast joints around. 100% Grade A maple syrup, free range eggs, black pudding from Macleod and MacLeod of Stornoway, and coffee from Caffe Carraro are among the high-end ingredients used in the brekkies here. The morning menu is served till 11.15am and includes smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on toasted sourdough, bacon flatbread with cream cheese, coriander and chilli jam, as well as the full monty (Stornoway black pudding, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, potato scone, mushroom, choice of eggs and sourdough toast).

We ate there on our last day in Glasgow and I wish we’d come across it sooner because not only was their breakfast amazing, but the place also had a super warm and cozy vibe that made me want to linger long after I’d finished my food. For my breakfast, I ordered the Gandolfi Vegetarian Breakfast, which came with fried halloumi, field mushrooms, tomatoes, potato scones, beans and eggs, with a side of sourdough toast. It was a fun twist on the traditional Full Scottish Breakfast, and I loved the combination of mushrooms and halloumi.
