Bloc+ is already a hot spot in Glasgow for cheap food and drinks. They run daily mid week deals like steak Wednesdays where you can get steak, chips and sauce for only £6!!! That must be the cheapest in Glasgow?! We went along to try some of the menu and really enjoyed everything. The perfect spot for day drinking. What Travellers Say

Reviews Summary

Bloc+ is lauded for its incredibly affordable and adventurous "pub grub," with many patrons praising the daily deals and unique menu items like the viral Irn Bru pulled pork. The lively atmosphere, fueled by frequent live music, and the extensive vegan options also receive high marks. However, some reviews suggest that add-on purchases might significantly increase the bill, and portion sizes for some items might be moderate.

"First time here, fairly quiet and relaxed atmosphere, late afternoon on a Thursday. Barman was super friendly and helpful, a nice welcome as I was on my own.

I order Lucky Saint 0% alcohol on draft which was a nice touch as you usually only get 0% in bottles. £5.50 a pint…

I order the Thursday daily deal which was chicken in a basket for a fiver!

A good deal and good food, pleased I decided to come here and I’ll definitely return next week when I’m back in Glasgow."

The Ground Below

"Wed is steak night for $6! Have the Fried Sticky Toffee Pudding! Great people watching and servers were excellent. Food is served quickly."

Karen W

"Played here with my band, and it was one of the best run venues I've played so far. Food was very nice (and really cheap), beer was reasonably priced, and the crowd were spectacular. Never played Scotland before but if they're all as good as Bloc+ I think I might move up there."

Best places to eat in Glasgow

In charge of the kitchen at Bloc is ‘the Mad Chef’, who got his name when his Buckfast ice cream and Irn Bru pulled pork creations went viral online. Bloc has plenty of cool, edgy attitude but it’s still a crowd-pleaser. There’s something for everyone on this menu – impressive burgers and incredible vegan pub grub, including the not dog (veggie dog with lentils, sweet potato, butternut squash, tahini, avocado cheese sauce and Quorn chilli), which would bowl over even the most ardent meat-lover.

18 of the best places for a burger in Glasgow

Bloc has long been a go-to spot, especially for those on a budget (a £3 burger features on their week-long list of daily deals) - but the real draw are those burgers. The Mad Mac, a take on a certain other takeaway fave, will have you dreaming of burgers for days to come. The Durty Burger (topped with gravy) will leave you feeling like a kid covered in your favourite foods and the Sloppy Jock, with haggis and peppercorn sauce, is a winner any day of the week.

5 of the best cheap Sunday lunches in Glasgow

The story of Bloc+ really should be titled: "How a late night bar became one of the go to foodie destinations in Glasgow". Over the past year, the basement bar on Bath Street has been hitting the headlines for all the right reasons with amazing dishes like the Not Dog and the vegan Big Mac. Their success story is mainly down to the Mad Chef Danny McLaren and his team and their irreverent takes on typical bar menu staples.
