What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Copper Kettle offers a charming, traditional tea room experience with standout breakfasts and cream teas. While many praise the homemade food, friendly service, and fair prices, some reviews mention inconsistencies in food quality and presentation, particularly for higher-priced meals. Despite occasional critiques, it remains a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike.
"The welcome here is warm, the tea refreshing and the food is divine. A wonderful place for a pot of tea, a slice of cake, a cream tea or a filling lunch. Top notch"
Pete Gilbert
"With the demise of Mortimers in Dulverton (oh just so sad) we had to go here to try it out. Never been in as it was always crowded; today's visit was tacked onto the end of a mini-errands run (which also took in the excellent Seven Fables and Rothwell and Dunworth bookshops).
Coffee was good. I had the cafetiere version and it was wonderful. Tomato soup was good, and the salmon and cream cheese sandwich also went down well. The cakes looked really good, but time prevented sampling. Dog friendly, a bit squashed, but service kind. Not a buzzing atmosphere, but gentle and calm."
G Hartland
"Absolutely the best gluten free cream tea in Somerset! The staff are friendly and helpful, catering for both coeliac and nut allergies with a focus on separating allergens."
