What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Bridford Inn is a highly praised 17th-century pub offering a warm welcome and exceptional food, particularly its Sunday roasts. Diners rave about the tender beef, generous portions, and friendly atmosphere, making it a standout destination in the Teign Valley. While generally lauded, some reviews hint at the popularity meaning booking is essential.
"We arrived without a booking and the pub was busy, but the staff were able to squeeze us in on one of the emergency tables, which was really appreciated. We ordered the salt and pepper squid and the onion and thyme soup which were fantastic, and the best thick-cut chips I've had anywhere. Sticky toffee pudding afterwards was great as well. Would strongly recommend booking so as not to be disappointed!"

"I really don't want to give this 5 stars, because I don't want more people to know how good it is. I will be back, again and again, and again. This place is a small slice of heaven, packed in a small village. Needless to say, everything here was perfect."

"Went for Sunday lunch, we all had roast beef. Not cheap at £18-95, but plenty of meat and great veg, including an excellent cauliflower cheese. The beef was superb, tender and moist, melt in your mouth, best I’ve had in years, well worth the money. And a good selection of beers including my favourite, Jail Ale. Great landlord and staff, couldn’t fault anything about our time there. Will be back soon !!"

High above the valley floor, this 17th-century inn has panoramic views of the surrounding hills from the pubs gardens. With its stone walls, beamed ceilings and ingelnook fireplace, this is a gem of a pub, for not only do they serve good ales, great food and traditional cider from various Devon and Somerset producers, but it also houses the village shop!. There are four handpumps on the bar that are fully employed and in excess of 15 Real Ciders.
