What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
This cafe is praised for its friendly staff, delicious and generously portioned food like biscoff buns and falafel wraps, and a cozy atmosphere with French music. However, some diners have reported negative experiences with raw food and cleanliness issues, alongside an instance of a staff member having a loud personal phone call. It's a popular spot that can get busy, so timing your visit is recommended.
"Wonderful wee place! Staff are super friendly and accommodating, had a lovely chat with one of the waitresses when my food was served. I had the biscoff bun (which was scrumptious) and a pot of tea. So many good cakes to choose from, and all a generous size! My friend had the falafel wrap, again a generous portion size and she said it was delicious. A great variety of wraps, sausage rolls, tortillas, soups, cakes and pastries to choose from. One of my new favourite places! It can be quite busy here so try and time your arrival right, but you shouldn't have to wait more than 5 minutes for a table."

"Ive just had one of the most confusing cafe trips of my life. As soon as we arrived, with a pram, another door had to be opened, for some reason this involved a 5ft 3 staff member, on a stepladder with a Butter knife. We ordered banana bread and some bacon bagels (apparently they had no rolls.) I know the banana bread is fresh and, given how long it took to arrive, I can only assume they started baking it the moment we asked for it. As for the rest of it, the bacon was so raw, I wouldn't be surprised if the pig's family were still in mourning, it was paired with a bagel so raw and untoasted, it may well have been used as a blunt weapon to finish off the pig. All in all, wouldn't recommend."

"French music creates a magical vibe and a cozy atmosphere while you enjoy your morning cup of coffee. It's a very pleasant staff."

This relaxed neighbourhood café serves hearty modern food for breakfast and lunch and does the occasional pop-up evening, too. A tasty-looking Libyan food event was on offer when we visited. Breakfast specials could be shakshuka baked Turkish eggs, and lunch might be a hard choice between an Arbroath smokie and spring greens frittata, an excellent panzanella or a bowlful of deli salads.

Run by Dundee chef Gillian Veal, on the city’s West Port, The Parlour offers sandwiches, wraps, salads, frittata, various cakes and great homemade soup. Delicious food and drink in Dundee
Situated just over the road from D’Arcy Thompson, it’s a (mainly) vegetarian café serving truly scrumptious cakes, rolls, biscuits, muffins and tarts and lots of other freshly made food. Jennie insisted I try the frangipane tart. For a few moments I was in sublime foodie heaven – worth a visit to Dundee just for a slice of this meltingly divine treat!

I can never ever remember the name of this place, but it’s tiny and is on old hawkhill. Does amazing lunches and sandwiches you can take away.
