Doable in a day from Bracknell but a bit tiring! We went to Chichester and Hayling Island today. The sun was out and we had some nice food and drinks! We visited Crispin’s cafe for lunch, the Crown & Anchor for a drink and then Hayling island we had fish and chips! Not a bad day all in all for a Sunday! #chichester #haylingisland #crownandanchor #crispinscafe

Reviews Summary

Diners consistently praise Crown & Anchor for its stunning harbour views and exceptionally fresh seafood, including rave reviews for oysters and fish & chips. The traditional pub atmosphere and friendly service are also frequently highlighted as positive aspects. While generally well-received, some reviews mention that food can take longer than expected during busy periods, and prices are noted as being on the higher side.

"This pub is a quintessential British pub. I was visiting the area from the America but am from the UK. This pub has a personality and super friendly staff and a great vibe. Great wine list and the beers are solid. The menus are engaging and seasonal. Went 3 times in 4 days. The views across the quay are priceless. Loved the fresh oysters, scallops and the crispy fish and chips were a 10."

Bob Gilbert

"I'm from the local area, but living in America the last 10 years. So when I was visiting family I had to come in here for old time sakes, I wasn't disappointed. The sea bass was absolutely delicious paired with the other shellfish starters. This is a beautiful pub in a fantastic location. When I'm back again in a few years, I will make sure to stop by again."

John P

"This is a gem of a place. Beautiful pub and lovely setting with a great choice of fresh seafood and plenty of outdoor seating. Service was good and we had a lovely lunch here. Gets v busy though- got here just before 12 noon on a Sunday and the car park was full! There’s parking down the road though. Would definitely visit again."

You can’t get much closer to the coast than The Crown & Anchor on Dell Quay Marina. The popular outdoor terrace has stunning views across Chichester Harbour and its bobbing boats, making it an idyllic spot for lunch or dinner al fresco in the fresh sea air – but if the weather’s not playing ball, the indoor restaurant set in the 16th-century inn is just as beautiful too. On the menu, you’ll find local seasonal British dishes such as ‘Cold Smoked Pork Rump’, a classic beef burger or freshly caught fish of the day, as well as well-loved desserts like Sticky Toffee Pudding and Berry Pavlova.
