Not an actual Italian restaurant, I’ve included Scott’s because they are one of the best places in Cambridge for a pizza, with a wide menu of less common toppings along with the old favourites. Because they use sourdough for their pizza bases, with everything made on-site, and most of the meat that you can add to your pizza coming from Mill Road Butchers across the road, the flavours in the pizza are just fantastic. It’s difficult to describe, but the base has a kind of softness that you don’t normally get with a pizza.

Scott’s, the Mill Road brunch hotspot, has always been a firm favourite of mine. I’ve spent many hours consuming pancakes, copious amounts of tequila and pizzas there. I must admit, while we’re on the subject of Mill Road, I do miss the Culinaris pizza (a gorgeous ’nduja and harissa oil wonder), but the latest addition to the Scott’s menu is pretty unique to the pizza offering of Cambridge.

In fact, you can see where they source their meat from across the road at the Mill Road butcher. They also serve craft beer, which comes from a brewery a mere 2 two-minute walk away at Calverley Brewery – This is as local as it gets!

A bright, airy brunch and pizza place located slap bang in the middle of Mill Road, just before the bridge. The brunch is possibly my favourite of all the cafes on Mill Road. Although it can be a little expensive, there’s something indescribably good about their avocado smash.
