What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Noodles Plus+ is celebrated for its incredibly authentic and delicious homemade Chinese cuisine, particularly its lauded soup dumplings and noodles. While many praise the food's quality and affordability, be prepared for significant waits due to limited seating and high demand. The cash-only policy and potential service delays are recurring themes in feedback.
"The best dumplings I’ve had! The handmade noodles were also delicious 😋 Be sure to queue just before 12, as there isn’t much space inside so expect a 30+ min wait if you don’t get in first. For such an amazing selection of food, it’s very cheap too!"

"Food was delicious but we waited 40 mins to sit, 20 mins for our order to be taken and an other 40 mins for the food. We were there for 2 hours, and only 20 mins of that was spent eating. We ate under the watchful eyes of hungry customers standing by the door, waiting to eat. The food really was not worth all the wait when there are so many delicious, home made authentic food options on mill road with good service. I strongly urge the owners to hire an extra pair of hands to get food out quicker, seat more people and round off the great food with a decent altogether experience. The food is good and beautifully prepared, all done by hand. Good place to go if it’s quiet."

"Went here for a late lunch around 3pm on a Sunday. Waited for about 30mins for a seat, then another 15 minutes for the woman who runs the restaurant to take our order.
It was worth it.
The dumplings were delicious. The cold spicy spiced beef tendon was mouth watering with a chili oil that paired well with the dumplings.
The beef noodles were exceptional in that the noodles were cooked perfectly, with the meat and broth pairing together to all form an incredible dish.
The restaurant is cash only. ATM is at the nearby CO-OP."

Foodie Top 5: soup spots in Cambridge
Two soups in one: if you’re a fan of noodley goodness (and who isn’t?) then you really do need to get yourself to Noodles Plus on the city end of Mill Road. In winter months the huge, condensation-covered windows conceal the interiors and give a mysterious air to the eatery, but venture in and your curiosity will be rewarded with freshly-made noodles, dumplings and steamed buns which take some beating. Soup aficionados should start their feast with Noodle Plus’s legendary xiao long bao, aka ‘soup dumplings’, which are perhaps the most superb of all wintery lunches – but their eating takes a certain amount of ceremony to avoid covering your chin in scalding soup.
Best Places To Eat And Drink In Cambridge
For those seeking sit-down international cuisine, there are lots of Indian restaurants, with some of the best being Taj Tandoori Cherry Hinton Road, Atithi on Mill Road, Rajbelash on Hills Road and Navadhanya on Newmarket Road. There are plenty of Chinese restaurants but not so many long-established ones, some of the best being Yim Wah Express on Lensfield Road, Seven Days on Regent Street, Shanghai Family next to the Grafton Centre, the swanky Orchid on Newmarket Road and the cheap Noodles Plus on Mill Road.
Not just run-of-the-mill: the ten best Mill Road restaurants
I’ve heard so many rumours about the couple who run this place, even that they worked for a Michelin-star restaurant in China. It has an unassuming interior, with green walls and bare tables, but anyone who’s been there can testify to the fact that it serves the best noodles in Cambridge – and its soup dumplings (first item on the menu) are undoubtedly iconic. There’s a reason this place constantly has a queue of Asian regulars (the best mark of a good Asian restaurant) and non-Asian irregulars.
12 of the tastiest and most affordable places I've eaten at in Cambridgeshire this year - Siobhan Middleton
Unless the almost-permanent queue of customers was there to catch my eye, I would probably have wandered past Noodles Plus on Mill Road without even turning my head. However, my decision to dine here was a time when I was glad to have followed the crowd. My six dumplings (Shanghai xiao long bao) were handmade to order, for the surprisingly-cheap price of £9.
