Reviews Summary

Maes Cafe is a beloved local spot praised for its homemade cakes, delicious coffee, and friendly service, offering a welcoming atmosphere with scenic views. While many rave about the food and the staff's kindness, some patrons have noted issues with slow service during busy periods.

"Came here 3 times in a row it was so nice!

A great little cafe right next to a nice beach.

The ham, Brie and chutney toastie was so good! Little things like getting a top up of hot chocolate because the glass was half cream to begin with just makes it absolutely 5 star.

Will definitely be returning on our next visit!"

"Maes Cafe is a fantastic spot for anyone who loves good coffee and homemade cakes. The coffee was rich, smooth, and perfectly made, while the cakes were fresh, indulgent, and full of flavour – you can tell they’re baked with care. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the cosy atmosphere made it an ideal place to relax and enjoy a treat. A real gem for coffee and cake lovers."

"All we can say is a huge thank you to a very lovely gentleman at Mae's cafe today who came to our rescue. Our car battery was flat after we left the door open on the car park. We had already been to Maes and was treated to amazing homemade beef and vegetable pasties, cake, coffee and ice creams and service with a smile. Looks like a family business which is always lovely to see. After asking if anyone had some jump leads, without hesitation the gentleman at Mae's left the cafe and went to their home and collected jump leads and their car to help us boost our car. It's people like this that restore your faith in the human race. Thank you so much. From the reviews we have read we note there is some negative ones which is very sad when the owners are new. Supporting local independent businesses is key and when you get the extra mile too that is 5 star service in our books. If we can be anything in this world be kind and we were shown that today. Good luck, thank you and we will definitely be back again to visit.... hopefully without the flat battery next time."
