Reviews Summary

Diners consistently praise Littlefrench for its exceptional French-inspired cuisine and charming bistro atmosphere, with many highlighting the quality of ingredients and generous portions. While the food and service are largely lauded, a few reviews mention occasional lapses in attentiveness or issues with specific dishes, though these are generally outweighed by the overwhelmingly positive experiences.

"I've been trying to get back to littlefrench for sometime, so a business trip to Bristol gave the ideal excuse to stay on and visit for lunch.
The name provides a big clue as to the style of the menu and in practice it doesn't disappoint.
We started by sharing some crispy pigs ears, before moving on to radish with cod's roe (simple and tasty) and scallops (beautifully cooked with a delicious sauce).
For mains my partner had the lobster, which she says was pure bliss, whilst I had a fantastic flame grilled fillet,
Dessert was cherry and almond tart to die for.
There's an excellent range of interesting and reasonably priced wines by the glass and an extensive list if you are buying by the bottle.
I'm going to need to find another reason to visit Bristol in the near future."

Mark Adams

"A fantastic dining experience tonight. Everything that we ate was absolutely delicious; the aligot was a star due to my love of garlic and cheese!

The service was brilliant - our host, Stella, was friendly and attentive and also felt like they were authentic to themselves as well. There’s nothing better than when someone can let their personality shine through at work! A credit to the restaurant.

Will definitely be returning!"

Tamsin Sayers

"Fantastic independent restaurant in Westbury Park.
Came for the aligot (IYKYK) & was not disappointed! As a group of 5, every single dish was delicious. Rich in butter (it is French!), moreish & balanced flavours.
Service was fantastic, our waitress even spotted us outside & came out to take our photo.
The atmosphere, even on a Wednesday night, was great, the place was full with a lovely buzz.
Will be back!"

The Best French Restaurants in Bristol

Ran by TV personality and Bristolian Freddy Bird, Littlefrench opened its doors in July 2019. Nestling in amongst the other buildings in Westbury Park, it would be easy to miss the restaurant if it were not for its shining reputation that draws people in to experience its stylish interior and relaxed atmosphere. The bare brick walls, copper bar top, and wooden furnishings are definitively French, with warm lighting and teal decor that makes dining-in a treat.

11 best restaurants in Bristol

Located uncomfortably close to my first-year university halls, I was apprehensive to visit Little French, for fear of somehow re-living some freshers-induced trauma. That said I was totally overreacting because Little French is one to visit. A cosy neighbourhood restaurant serving a French-inspired menu, classic cocktails, and an extensive wine list, which is a far cry from my first-year diet of beans and a warm G&T.
