From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for an unforgettable evening. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, making sure we felt welcome and well taken care of.
The menu was diverse and thoughtfully curated, offering a range of dishes that cater to both classic tastes and more adventurous palates. I opted for the seafood special, which was impeccably fresh and cooked to perfection. Each dish was beautifully presented, and the flavors were expertly balanced—every bite was a delight.
The ambiance of the Club House was equally impressive, with its cozy yet elegant decor and a lovely view that added to the overall experience. The attention to detail in both the food and the service was evident, making it clear that this is a place that takes pride in delivering a top-notch dining experience. The wine list offer reasonable price across the board.

"We were staying in a cottage nearby and had dinner here on our first day we arrived. Great food and even better service from the staff. We enjoyed it so much we returned on our last day for a late lunch and stayed until closing. Shout out to the dog loving staff member who took care of us both days. Just lovely.
The location is also perfect with great views, peaceful surroundings and loads of different options for sitting outside and enjoying the sun. Would absolutely recommend."

Best restaurants in Dorset
This Dorset restaurant’s connection to water goes beyond its location overlooking Chesil Beach and menu awash with fresh seafood: the 1930s building was once an Olympic-pool club house (hence the name). Retaining many of its original features, The Club House‘s interiors are best described as mid-century modern meets New England nautical. It’s a fitting backdrop for head chef William Hickton’s fish-focused menus, which include classics such as bouillabaisse and lobster grilled in garlic butter alongside more creative additions like butterflied grilled mackerel with slow-roasted Isle of Wight tomatoes, salsa verde and burnt-lemon aioli.

‘Comfortably elegant’ is how the team at The Club House define their Chesil Beach restaurant – a fitting description of its art-deco exterior, nautical interior and relaxed-yet-smart dining vibe. It’s the kind of seaside venue where holidaymakers can leisurely sip a glass of local sparkling Blanc de Blancs while tucking into a plate of posh fish and chips. The Club House version of the perennially popular dish features battered line-caught hake, rustic chips, minted mushy peas and a homemade tartar sauce.
