The Martonian Inn is praised for its hearty, homecooked food and exceptional value, with many highlighting the quality of the Sunday carvery and the welcoming, dog-friendly atmosphere. "My bestie and I had Homemade Pies and they were super tasty and hot. Massive Pub, Dog Friendly, Traditional British Pub...
Staff were absolutely lovely.."

"A bit of a spur of the moment decision. We decided to call the Martonian and go for an early Christmas Dinner.
I feel a bit mean only giving 4 stars for everything as the Martonian is a very good pub and restaurant.
Just my personal opinion, of course, but there is room for improvement in a few areas.
The rooms at the Martonian are large, well lit, and there are 2 dog friendly areas.
The food was ordered at the bar and the staff were friendly. The Christmas menu offered a dinner for £12.95, a festive burger with lots of extras for £13.95 or loaded roasties (which sounded delicious!)
It arrived in good time, piping hot, and was really good!
The Christmas dinner was excellent. Just a little comment: I do like cranberry sauce with turkey.
The waitress seemed unconfident when asking about the cheese on the festive burger. She was perhaps new to the job?
Deserts were not on the menu, which was odd. No Christmas pudding either?
I went for chocolate fudge cake in a sea of custard. Good job, I love custard!
A step up from your usual pub grub, for sure.
I would definitely go again.
For 4 people, with drinks, it came to £92.50 (December 2024)"

"Went midweek last week - a quiet afternoon. The pub is a great place for a beer, game of pool and to meet friends. Most of the staff are great too.....but the food severely lets the place down - pre-portioned microwaved rice and frozen chips is just lazy cooking (not even cheffing). Buying rice and potatoes and prepping them is far more cost effective in this industry (it's not like you haven't the staff - 2 walking around on phones 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️). We ordered 2 specials they were passable - non-plussed responses from friends with not alot of flavour on the plate. A shame..... better and cheaper options for "homecooked" food in Flamborough village."
