What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Gurkha offers an extensive all-you-can-eat buffet with a wide variety of Indian, Chinese, and Thai dishes, often praised for being hot and well-stocked. While many appreciate the friendly staff and value for money, some diners have experienced disappointing food quality, citing issues like soggy items or food that has been sitting out too long. It's a popular spot, particularly on weekends, so booking ahead is recommended.
"Amazing food! So much variety and really tasty. All hot, well stocked up and a great variety of spicy dishes too including spicy chips, chow mein and extra hot lamb curry. The staff were so friendly and the service was brilliant. Plenty for kids to eat too if you have a fussy eater. Our 2 year old who eats anything enjoyed all the bits from the starters section. Lots of desserts to choose from, ice cream machine and cones too. Not just Chinese but Indian and Thai dishes. Decor was nice with lots of interesting history too.
Really enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend! I recommend booking a table online in advance.
Parking isn't great but you can park down the street where permits arent needed if busy.
Great price and drinks were super cheap for pints too."

"I Don't understand all the great reviews. The onion rings batter was soft and not crispy. The sushi was old and soggy. The best things I ate here, were the Prawn Crackers. Overall not good.
Perhaps was an off day?
Will not return.

We did inform your staff about the food problems, they didn't even check up on the soggy onion rings and old sushi. They did, without hesitation, give us a 10% discount, which was not asked for. It seemed as though having to give a discount was common."
