"Could not recommend this place enough! The food was incredible, the fish is sustainably caught and so many vegetarian options too - i had the 'tofish' in batter which I've never tried before and it was devine! Carolann was so welcoming and friendly from the moment we got there and Martin too. It really makes a difference when you get such great service."

"Visited on Thursday afternoon for haddock and chips. Was immediately sat to the table by the older waitress, she was very polite and well informative to us about any questions or queries we may have. Ordered drinks at the bar, then arrived after the food had been served 3-4 after. Food was alright, not the best. The fish was covered in black bits; clearly from dirty cooking oil. Do they know what a skimmer is? Chips were almost cardboard like. Lucky though we ordered some sides of gravy and curry sauce. The gravy was standard chip shop style. But, the curry sauce saved the day it was actually pretty good and lifted the review from a 3 to a 4 star. The young waitress who served our drinks could have cracked a smile but was pleasant enough and well dressed. We had eat most of the food, however, the lemonade was very weak and mostly fizzy water. I wouldn’t say it was a major blowout to its competitors. And neither value for money."

"I do not normally leave reviews however I would like to post this as a warning. Sat at the front of the restaurant. Everything look worn down. Crack mirror at serving point. Table so sticky the napkin had to be prised away. Door left open leaving the room cold. I”Went to order. No Hull patties. You either a regular or large alcohol drink. No pints. Took 10 minutes for the drinks. Ordered the big fish which was cold and wet in places. The chips….. I don’t think they had cleaned the fat they were smothered in brown bits and I found a big brown bit. Never had this issue before. Complained to the lady at counter and she said this had happened before. Spoke to the manager who didn’t say he was the manager and offered a drink or dessert as way of compensation and I said I would not want to eat from there again. Got £6 back on a £40 meal in compensation for the chips and was told they had staffing issues and could not do everything and would have a word with the chefs…..Food was not being finished elsewhere. To sum up a dirty inedible meal in bad surroundings. Find somewhere else until they sort themselves out. I felt sorry for the staff."
