The Village Inn is largely praised for its delicious home-cooked meals, generous portions, and incredibly friendly atmosphere, making it a true hidden gem. Guests particularly rave about the fajitas and Sunday lunch, noting the excellent value and welcoming staff. However, one reviewer experienced poor service and higher-than-advertised prices, suggesting consistency might vary.
"Our party of five had the most incredible Sunday lunch here today. The food was hot, fresh, plentiful and incredible value for money. a fantastic selection of vegetables served family style, and staff that were super attentive getting extra gravy and sauces. One of our party is gluten free but didn’t miss out on stuffing and Yorkshire puddings. I highly recommend it. A true hidden gem."

"Didn't stay in the pub so can't comment on the rooms but the pub and food is fantastic. We went as a large family group with 4 dogs and they looked after us brilliantly. Super friendly staff and locals, great service and the food was both reasonably priced and delicious. So nice to find a proper pub serving great ale and home made food. Highly recommended."

"Family of 4, we'd heard about the fajitas on social media and the hype really is to be believed. They were delicious. One of our boys had the sausages which were delicious and the other son had the ribs, these came with the biggest onion rings I have ever seen. To fill a 17 year old male is no mean feat, but you achieved it with stunning and plentiful food. Sadly we are only here for a week but are definitely returning"
