"Drove past this place looking for somewhere to nice to eat as we're on our honeymoon. Popped in for a cream tea and booked for that everything as we liked the menu. Lady on that afternoon told us to ask for a booth if we did book as a little more special. Wow what a beautiful room we dined in, server was lovely and food exceptional. We didn't think prices were too bad compared to other menues we'd looked at. We both had three courses and the bill with drinks was £85.20, definitely worth a visit."

"There was no real atmosphere as there weren't many other people in the bar. TV showing soaps in the background. The guy serving was was friendly and chatty.

Sadly, food was abysmal. Based on the menu we were expecting fresh home cooked food.

Beef pie was really dry. Chicken curry was really dry. Macaroni cheese you could taste the powder in the sauce.

Such a shame as food was probably lovely when it was cooked but I'd imagine they freeze it and warm it up by the taste and dryness of it. First time I've ever been somewhere to eat and no one asks "how was your food" so I think they know too.

Won't be returning."

"We rang ahead to make sure it was accessible as my mum is in a wheelchair and they were very helpful and responsive. Re access - there is stairs free access to the hotel and restaurant, and a disabled toilet available to use. My mum was able to sit at the table comfortably in her wheelchair which was handy too, as the restaurant chairs don't have armrests. The food was lovely, delicious with very generous portions and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area!"
