Reviews Summary
The Boater is praised for its prime riverside location and expansive beer garden, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists. While many enjoy the welcoming atmosphere and good pub fare like buffalo wings and burgers, some diners have experienced issues with food quality, particularly burnt pizzas and disappointing fish and chips. Service is generally friendly, though occasional delays and cleanliness concerns have been noted.
"Fabulous pub! The manager couldn't have been more helpful. All the staff were brilliant. We wanted to watch the West Ham game & had booked a table to be sure. We arrived early & were given a choice of places to sit. He checked on us throughout the evening, making sure it was warm enough (the basement was a bit chilly, but the heaters were great). The food was good - buffalo wings, cheeseburger & fish finger sarnie. The only disappointment was the footy score 😬"

"Had food and drinks here. Both pizzas (~£15ea) were burnt on the underside - just charred black which ruined the taste.
When we queried this with the staff we were told that this was deliberate and just a part of their 'hot' cooking process. So be warned, this isn't going to be a one-off!
Very disappointing as it was otherwise a great location with a lovely outside space and a fair selection of drinks."

"We visited here twice on our recent trip from York. We ventured in before a planned river cruise trip so very much accidentally but very very pleased we did! A lovely and warm welcome from the staff. A lovely atmosphere. We are a family of four. Lots of choice of drinks and on our second visit we stayed for food. Delicious. Again great service from a lovely lady on the bar today. Just what we needed before our long journey home. Definitely recommend. Thank you all involved! We will be back!! Fully appreciated the warm welcome and prompt and smiley service! 🙏🙏"
