Describing itself as a ‘subterranean late-night tavern serving boutique spirits, hand-crafted cocktails, fine Scottish ales and inspired casual dining’, The Tippling House captures a 1930s speakeasy vibe to result in a cocktail lover’s dream. The whole venture came about via cocktail catering company 10 Dollar Shake with this, its first bar/restaurant that opened in 2012, aiming to deliver the company’s goal of a high-end imbibing experience. Tipples include the ‘Dufftown Boilermaker’ (Monkey Shoulder blended Scotch, Amaro Montenegro, Orgeat, fresh lemon and Drygate Gladeye IPA), the ‘Charlie Brown’s Pumpkin Patch’ (Rittenhouse rye whiskey, Cynar and seasonal pumpkin consommé) and ‘A Shadow Over Innsmouth’ (Ketel One Genever, Caol Ila peated single malt, Lapsang Souchong tea & kelp syrup, squid ink).

They have a rather impressive range of cocktails (with a hefty price tag, but hey ho) and a really nice steampunk style atmosphere. Located on Belmont Street The Tippling House are open until 3am on Saturday nights, 2 am the rest of the week.
