Reviews Summary

The Tippling House is lauded for its exceptional cocktails, knowledgeable staff, and a sophisticated speakeasy ambiance that rivals top New York bars. Diners rave about the inventive drinks, attentive service, and the value of their tasting menu. However, a few reviews mention unexpected service charges and occasional quietness in the atmosphere.

"Was our first time here after hearing about it for so long. Jamie really made our time there amazing, was so incredibly attentive, super talkative and friendly, and had great knowledge of the stock and drinks on offer. Thanks Jamie!! The vibe is great, the drinks are amazing and they can make most things by request. They also have a trade menu for hospitality staff. Fab place!!"

Katie Kidd

"Great little hidden speakeasy tucked away on Belmont. Stumbled upon it and loved the atmosphere. The £10 signature cocktails are amazing and well thought out and balanced. Had 3-for-2 small plates with a great variety : had the fritters, bao, and poutine. Evan and Charlie (Charlotte) were friendly, attentive and prooud of the establishment. Bonus points for being in a basement so the bathrooms are on the same level!!!"

Mark Kidman

"Firstly. Service: phenomenal, was greeted instantly, kind and soft spoken server and our water jug was refilled when it wasn’t even empty. The way my jaw dropped at the level of sophistication this place has (even at almost 1am). Please come here is your unsure as I could not recommend more.
Furthermore the actual drinks here are delicious and well thought out, plus, the mixologists know what they’re on about here. I referenced a drink from a video game and one of the bartenders knew what is was, told me and said he could make it if I wanted.
6 stars!!!!"

The Best Bars To Wet Your Whistle In Aberdeen

Describing itself as a ‘subterranean late-night tavern serving boutique spirits, hand-crafted cocktails, fine Scottish ales and inspired casual dining’, The Tippling House captures a 1930s speakeasy vibe to result in a cocktail lover’s dream. The whole venture came about via cocktail catering company 10 Dollar Shake with this, its first bar/restaurant that opened in 2012, aiming to deliver the company’s goal of a high-end imbibing experience. Tipples include the ‘Dufftown Boilermaker’ (Monkey Shoulder blended Scotch, Amaro Montenegro, Orgeat, fresh lemon and Drygate Gladeye IPA), the ‘Charlie Brown’s Pumpkin Patch’ (Rittenhouse rye whiskey, Cynar and seasonal pumpkin consommé) and ‘A Shadow Over Innsmouth’ (Ketel One Genever, Caol Ila peated single malt, Lapsang Souchong tea & kelp syrup, squid ink).

10 Places to Eat & Drink in Aberdeenshire, Scotland

The Tippling House describe themselves as “a subterranean late-night tavern serving boutique spirits, hand-crafted cocktails, fine Scottish ales & inspired casual dining.” Aberdeen food blogger Claire over at Foodie Quine introduced me to this venue after we went to see Curtis Stigers at His Majesty’s Theatre, and I was well impressed. They have a rather impressive range of cocktails (with a hefty price tag, but hey ho) and a really nice steampunk style atmosphere. Located on Belmont Street The Tippling House are open until 3am on Saturday nights, 2 am the rest of the week.
