Reviews Summary
Nazar Borek & Cafe is highly praised for its stunning views and unique cave dining experience, complemented by exceptional family hospitality and authentic Turkish cuisine. While many rave about the delicious borek, Manti, and overall value, some reviewers note that the fresh preparation can lead to longer wait times and that reservations are not accepted, which can be a challenge during peak periods.
"What a place! Amazing views over the mountains and caves. The room inside is in a cave so it is very cosy. Not so many covers so I hope they have room when you visit! The place is well sign posted so easy to find. The servers are extremely friendly and upbeat. The food was delicious and we enjoyed everything we ate as shown in the pictures. Absolutely worth a visit!"

"I have been here 4 years ago and forgot to give this calm sanctuary a review that it deserves. Nothing has changed since my last visit. A beautiful location with a very friendly family that runs this Restaurant with all of their heart. You feel very welcome. I bought my partner here this time and we both agreed: It was the best meal we have had on this 9 day trip in Turkey. If you come bring time and patience since everything is made fresh to order. You will be rewarded with delicious home cooked food. Thank you for another great experience! 🙏"

Nazar Börek & Cafe, a charming eatery in the heart of Cappadocia, is a delightful stop for those exploring the myriads of things to do in Cappadocia. This quaint cafe specializes in traditional Turkish pastries and hearty breakfasts, making it a favorite among locals and tourists alike. The highlight of the menu is the börek – a savory pastry filled with cheese, spinach, or meat, baked to golden perfection.
A week in Istanbul and Cappadocia
Borek is a flaky pastry filled with potato and cheese, but also eggs. There is a vegetarian kebab which sadly I couldn’t find, but I’ve also heard the thin and crispy Lahmacun pizza is good Their salads are delicious and if you find one with fried halloumi, well, you’ve hit jackpot. Istanbul’s main Istiklal street also has falafel shops which are a saviour when you need something other than cheese.
Where to Eat in Cappadocia
Gözleme (pancakes) and börek (stuffed pastry) crop up all over Turkey but Nazar Börek (Müze Caddesi 30, Göreme, tel: +90 0384 271 2441) rings the changes on the usually savory dishes with an excellent elma böreği (apple börek). Particularly tasty, piping-hot gözleme is grilled at the simple cafés near the entrance to Zelve Open-Air Museum.
15 Best Restaurants in Cappadocia (Top Places to Eat)
If you’re looking for cheap eats in Cappadocia to sit in and enjoy or grab on the go, I highly recommend Nazar Börek & Cafe. Börek (a traditional filled, flakey pastry), is one of my favorite foods in the world, and this place does some of the best around. Try the kıymalı or the potato version along with a warm glass of çay (tea).

For a flakey, tasty slice of joy, pick up some borek at Nazar Borek. A ten-minute walk (800m) walk from the centre of town, this small family-run cafe serves top-notch borek, stuffed flatbreads and unbeatable sweet, cheesy kenefe. The owner, Rafik, grows his own organic vegetables which feature prominently on the menu.

We headed to the incredible Nazar Börek & Cafe, a friendly restaurant just a 5 minute stroll from the centre of Göreme. I cannot emphasise enough quite how spectacular this restaurant was!. With a cave setting, and cute and cosy tables situated around a terrace and garden area, this place was already special enough.
