What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Safranhan is praised for its magnificent views of Ankara, especially at night, and its delightful Turkish-style breakfasts. The service is frequently commended for being friendly and efficient. However, some diners find the prices to be on the higher side for the area, and a few have noted a lack of vegetarian options or disappointment with certain desserts. Despite minor critiques, the overall experience, particularly the ambiance and views, makes it a highly recommended spot.
"What an amazing restaurant !
This restaurant is located in the Divan hotel. It’s in the same building complex as the museum close the castle. The location is fantastic close to the antique shops. The views from the restaurant are magnificent. The food itself was very well made and presented. The menu was lacking in vegetarian options. The salad and the appetiser I had was very good. The desert was average but freshly made. The service was impeccable. Would definitely visit again. Highly recommend this place."

Restaurants in Ankara
Sitting just beneath Ankara Castle and with an incredible panorama of Ankara, this Turkish-style brasserie couples excellent food with first-rate service. An open kitchen gives way to an elegantly furnished dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows, and the views continue on the restaurant’s large outdoor patio, where guests sit before white tablecloths and underneath oversized umbrellas. The menu offers a blend of Turkish and contemporary cuisine, with local specialty Ankara tava, slowly cooked lamb over a bed of bed of seasoned rice, alongside starters like shrimp casserole with porcini mushrooms.
Ankara Museums of Rahmi M. Koç
Çengelhan and Safranhan had different functions in the classical and late periods of the Ottoman Empire and the early Turkish Republic Era. These historic buildings have been restored and turned into museums to house the preservation of cultural heritage today. The museum is a private non-profit museum dedicated to the collection, research, conservation, and exhibit of industrial and engineering-related objects and documents from all periods and countries from past to present, and to the transfer of industrial heritage from generations to generations.
