"This well-known Northern Thai restaurant is a favorite among tourists, but it’s not just about the hype—the food is genuinely delicious. I’ve tried several highly recommended places, but this one stands out as the best. Every dish I ordered was satisfying, with no disappointments.
• Well-managed queue system with a waiting area, so no long-standing wait.
• Convenient parking lot right across the street.
• Comfortable restrooms.
• Friendly and attentive staff who explain the menu well.
One thing I love about this place is that the portion sizes are not too big, allowing you to try multiple dishes in one visit. This is perfect for those who want to explore a variety of flavors.
The most surprising dish was "Chicken and Young Coconut Shoot Curry". I ordered it without much expectation, but it turned out to be amazing! The young coconut shoots were incredibly tender, and the soup had a rich, fragrant coconut aroma that made every spoonful delightful.
If you’re looking for an authentic Northern Thai dining experience with great flavors and excellent service, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. You won’t be disappointed!

"This restaurant, right in the heart of Chiang Mai, offers absolutely amazing food. The interior is beautifully designed, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The menu is inspired by the northern region of Thailand, and everything we tried was outstanding. We had several dishes, probably ten or more, and they were all delicious. I highly recommend the mixed platters, where you can try a variety of different items. The service is top-notch – the staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful, and they speak excellent English. I highly recommend visiting this place for anyone looking for great food in a beautiful setting. From the moment you walk in, it’s clear that this place is special!”"

"This Northern Thai restaurant offers authentic, traditional flavors that truly capture the essence of the region. It has been recognized with Michelin awards for several consecutive years — a testament to its consistent quality and excellence. Be prepared for a wait, as it’s quite popular and operates only during specific hours. Despite the wait, it’s well worth it. Overall, a fantastic dining experience and a must-visit spot when you’re in Chiang Mai!"

Chiang Mai for first-time visitors
My long-time favorite for local Lanna cuisine, set in a nice old wooden house quite close to the old city, with English friendly menus and some English-speaking staff. Everything I've had there was good over multiple visits over the years and is a must-visit whenever I'm in Chiang Mai. Order the appetizer set to try their excellent Sai Oua(Lanna sausage), two Nampriks(spicy green chili and milder tomato dips served with veggies and pork rinds), fried fermented pork ribs and Geng Hang Lei(sweet braised pork belly curry).
