For a splurge with a starry eyed sweetie, stroll further west up the beach to Zazen’s seaside restaurant with white tablecloths and flickering candles. The menu reaches into French, Italian and Thai territory, with choices like homemade fois gras; braised ox cheek and tale with mushrooms and pepper sauce, and panang curry with lobster. Frog & Gecko - Up in the relative quiet of the Bophut Fisherman's Village, this English run pub on the beach plays music from the 50s, 60s and 70s, serves English breakfast all day along with a fine menu of Indian food, and like many of the popular bars on Samui, it has a big screen television where major sporting events are shown live. The pub is also somewhat famous for its Wednesday night Pub Quiz.

The Frog and Gecko is a long-established beachfront bar with a cool atmosphere and amazing entertainment program available most nights. Wednesday pub quiz, live sports on Saturday and Sunday and regular theme parties attract crowds, which means the bar is always packed. If you are looking for a fun outing, The Frog and Gecko could be an ideal choice.

The Frog and Gecko pub is a popular watering hole for residents and visitors to the island. They have an extensive menu, ocean view tables and friendly staff. The Shack grill has to be one of the most popular restaurants in Koh Samui and the smell of steaks on the BBQ only adds to the fabulous and vibrant market atmosphere.

In contrast to some of the more upscale places to eat in Fisherman’s Village, the Frog and Gecko is a simple, casual pub with great food and generous portions. They often have live music and quizzes so it can get noisy but it’s a great atmosphere and perfect if you fancy fish and chips or a burger.

The reason for the special mention is that every Wednesday at 7:30pm they have a fantastic pub quiz. We have attempted it many times, with limited success but it’s great fun. Graham is your host and he puts together picture rounds, music rounds and a few twists and turns to keep it interesting.

For healthy visitors, yoga classes and massage treatments are readily available for visitors and the sea is safe for swimming year round. Bophut pier is also the daily departure point for diving and snorkeling trips to Koh Samui’s colourful reefs and offshore islands.

This lizard-themed pub has a rustic feel with wooden furniture and 70s music. The place is usually crowded on Wednesdays due to the quiz competition. Indulge in Thai dishes and delicious Indian curries or play a game at the pool table.

Billabong, (close to The Pub, on the beach side on they way to Frog & Gecko). This is an Australian pub, also a nice place to watch football or cricket. Good food, but not for vegetarians.

Graeme and Raphaella are the owners and managers of this lizard's themed pub. The pub has a rustic atmosphere with wooden furniture. The music here is from the 70s.
